The Treasure Hunt is part of Penn’s first Innovation Week, designed to excite students around technological innovation. This student-led initiative will celebrate Penn’s history of innovation and encourage students to harness technological innovation for the greater good. An anonymous donor contributed the $1,000 for the treasure hunt.
The event will also kick off the first round of the Weiss Tech House’s student inventors’ competition, PennVention 2007. Throughout the week, local entrepreneurs, alumni inventors and faculty from Penn’s Wharton School and School of Engineering and Applied Science will lend their expertise to a series of events designed to help students develop innovative ideas. Student volunteers will also teach a new after-school science program to youth in West Philadelphia. More information can be found at www.tech-house.upenn.edu.
